A 45-minute site visit to talk about how to bring the garden of your dreams to life. During this time, we'll answer your questions, share knowledge and resources, take pictures / get measurements (if appropriate) and determine a path forward. 

If you decide to work with us on design or implementation, the $50 paid for the site consultation will be deducted from your first estimate/invoice for work. 

You're also welcome to take notes on what we've shared and implement ideas on your own. 

If you'd like an emailed summary of our recommendations sent to you, complete with links to products we recommend, please add $25 to the total cost. (= $75)

We create custom garden designs by overlaying images of suggested plants on photos of your existing or desired garden spaces. 

Design efforts will take into account site constraints such as sun exposure, soil type, drainage, and surrounding plants / trees. 

While our designs lean more toward a cottage style of gardening, we make every effort to listen carefully to what our customers want, what the site characteristics allow, and then we'll put together two or three beautiful design options from there. 

Estimates include a customer review session and a round of revisions if needed.

At the end of the design phase, customers will have - in addition to a visual depiction of how their garden(s) could look - a plant list that includes plant types & suggested quantities to buy.

In cases where we have an approved design and the customer would like to install the plants themselves, we offer an option to source, buy, and/or place the plants for them. Some customers prefer this, as they don't feel comfortable placing plants and knowing how much room to give each one before digging holes. 

For other customers, it's a matter of time and/or knowing the best places to shop for plants. 

Our team at Garden Design Maine offers installation services - all done by hand. For larger or more complex projects requiring machinery, we partner with landscaping firms we trust. We can manage the process to ensure your vision is realized, recommending the right firm for tasks that need specialized equipment.
